Chickens are more sensitive to the flickering of artificial light than humans, which makes them more susceptible to stress and other discomforts. In order to bring just enough daylight into the barn, for example to meet certain quality marks, Techcomlight developed custom Daylight together with Eternit.
It consists of a custom roof duct in combination with the Solatube daylight system, with which daylight can be brought to the desired location via a tube. For the poultry sector, the system is equipped with additional artificial light by means of ultra-efficient LED lighting and a daylight dimmer. All electronic components can be connected to the barn computer.
Smart sensors can also ensure that the barn computer takes over the control; the light control is then fully automatic. This innovation reduces electricity consumption, ensures a more natural living environment for chickens and improves working conditions in the barn.
